Description

With its streamlined intake manifold and SOHC in-line architecture, our 362-cc 20-hp small outboard produces strong power. It is also among the most fuel-efficient vehicles in its class. It weighs only 111 pounds, making it appropriate for lightweight vessels like inflatables, aluminum fishing boats, and tenders.

Convenience & Control

CORROSION PROTECTION: Our unique Phaze FiveTM electro-deposited, anti-corrosive paint technique, when combined with our proprietary alloy (YDC-30), offers a robust, five-layer corrosion barrier. All Yamaha portable four-stroke outboards come equipped with this protection as standard.
MAX MANEUVERABILITY: Excellent maneuverability is possible with a steering angle of 45 degrees in each direction.
EASY ENGINE FLUSHING: For increased convenience and longer engine life, a freshwater flush device enables you to flush the engine without starting it.
PORTABILITY AND STORAGE: simple carrying and on-side storage without oil leaks or cowling scuffs are made possible by incredibly light weights, integrated resting pads and carry handles, a simple oil retention system, and an optional folding tiller handle.

Power & Performance

EFFECTIVE POWER: The single overhead camshaft, two-valve-per-cylinder architecture of the F25, F20, and F15 promotes improved ventilation and increased power.
A well-balanced crankshaft and labyrinth exhaust provide smooth power, and Microcomputer Ignition modifies timing to keep engine performance, economy, and power at their highest levels under all circumstances.
STREAMLINED INTAKE: For the F20 and F15, a manifold and intake silencer provide more direct airflow, resulting in less noise and greater power.
RESPONSIVE ACCELERATION: The F20 and F15’s acceleration pump supply the engine with fuel when it needs it, such as during quick throttle advance. Responsive acceleration is thus guaranteed.

Reliability & Durability

IDEAL OPERATION: CDI Microcomputer Ignition keeps track of engine speed, throttle position, and atmospheric conditions to accurately adjust ignition timing in any situation for optimal ignition performance, guaranteeing dependable and seamless operation.
WET SUMP: To provide optimal dependability, a pressured oil supply system includes a small, robust oil pump to keep all of the moving components of their SOHC systems lubricated and operating smoothly.
The engine warning system provides a number of safeguards for the outboard, such as shift-in prevention at open throttle, over-rev protection, start-in-gear protection, and low-oil-pressure alert, which immediately lowers the maximum RPM to 2000.
