Description

Our 432-cc 25-hp portable outboard boasts a class-leading power-to-weight ratio and a sleek, lightweight design. Actually, it’s the lightest 25-hp outboard—two- or four-stroke—on the water. Despite being 25% lighter due to its streamlined design, it still has interesting features like battery-less EFI. This capability is now available for pull-start models, and the system is built with an automatic decompression device to make manual starting even less labor-intensive.

Control and Convenience
CORROSION PROTECTION: Our unique Phaze FiveTM electro-deposited, anti-corrosive paint technique, when combined with our proprietary alloy (YDC-30), offers a robust, five-layer corrosion barrier. All Yamaha portable four-stroke outboards come equipped with this protection as standard.
MAXIMUM MANAGEABILITY: Excellent maneuverability is ensured with a steering angle of 45 degrees in each direction.
EASY ENGINE FLUSHING: For increased convenience and longer engine life, a freshwater flush device enables you to flush the engine without starting it.
PORTABILITY AND STORAGE: simple carrying and on-side storage without oil leaks or cowling scuffs are made possible by incredibly light weights, integrated resting pads and carry handles, a simple oil retention system, and an optional folding tiller handle.

Power & Performance

• EFFICIENT POWER: The F25, F20 and F15 all feature a two-valve-per-cylinder, single-overhead-camshaft design that provides better breathing and more power.
• OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE: An optimally balanced crankshaft and labyrinth exhaust deliver smooth power, while Microcomputer Ignition adjusts timing to maintain maximum engine performance, economy and power under all conditions
• STREAMLINED INTAKE: An intake silencer and manifold on the F20 and F15 result in more direct airflow, for minimum noise and maximum power.
• RESPONSIVE ACCELERATION: An acceleration pump on the F20 and F15 gives the engine the fuel it needs–when it needs it–like during rapid throttle advance. This ensures responsive acceleration.

Dependability and Sturdiness
IDEAL OPERATION: CDI Microcomputer Ignition keeps track of engine speed, throttle position, and atmospheric conditions to accurately adjust ignition timing in any situation for optimal ignition performance, guaranteeing dependable and seamless operation.
WET SUMP: To provide optimal dependability, a pressured oil supply system includes a small, robust oil pump to keep all of the moving components of their SOHC systems lubricated and operating smoothly.
The warning system for engines: provides a number of outboard protection features, such as shift-in prevention at open throttle, over-rev protection, start-in-gear protection, low-oil-pressure alert (which automatically lowers the maximum RPM to 2000), and overheat protection.
