Description

Our 362-cc, 15-hp portable has a two-cylinder, SOHC in-line design. It is among the most fuel-efficient in its class thanks to its single carburetor and CDI Microcomputer Ignition System. It weighs only 111 pounds, making it appropriate for lightweight vessels like inflatables, aluminum fishing boats, and tenders.

Convenience and Control

CORROSION PROTECTION: Our unique Phaze FiveTM electro-deposited, anti-corrosive paint system, when combined with our proprietary alloy (YDC-30), offers a robust, five-layer corrosion barrier. All Yamaha portable four-stroke outboards come equipped with this protection as standard.
MAX MANEUVERABILITY: Excellent maneuverability is possible with a steering angle of 45 degrees in each direction.
EASY ENGINE FLUSHING: For increased convenience and longer engine life, a freshwater flush device enables you to flush the engine without starting it.

PORTABILITY AND STORAGE: Easy carrying and on-side storage without oil leakage or cowling scuffs are made possible by incredibly light weights, integrated resting pads and carry handles, an easy oil retention system, and an optional folding tiller handle.

OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE: A crankshaft and labyrinth exhaust provide smooth power, and Microcomputer Ignition adjusts timing to maintain maximum engine performance, economy, and power in all situations.

STREAMLINED INTAKE: The F20 and F15 have a manifold and intake silencer that direct airflow for maximum power and minimal noise.
RESPONSIVE ACCELERATION: The F20 and F15 have an acceleration pump that provides the engine with the fuel it requires at the right time, such as during rapid throttle advance. This guarantees responsive acceleration.

Reliability and Durability

IDEAL OPERATION: CDI Microcomputer Ignition keeps track of engine speed, throttle position, and atmospheric conditions to precisely adjust ignition timing in every situation for optimal ignition performance, guaranteeing dependable and seamless operation.
WET SUMP: To ensure optimal dependability, a pressurized oil delivery system includes a small, robust oil pump to keep all of the moving components of their SOHC systems lubricated and operating smoothly.

The engine warning system provides a number of safeguards for the outboard, such as shift-in prevention at open throttle, over-rev protection, start-in-gear protection, and low-oil-pressure warning, which automatically lowers the maximum RPM to 2000.
