Description
This I-4 is the ideal lightweight 200-hp option for small to medium-sized boats because it is the lightest DOHC outboard in its class. Additionally, it’s the first in-line four that works with our fully integrated digital boat control system, Helm Master®.
Convenience and Control
READY FOR REPOWER: In-Line Fours are adaptable for the majority of repowers because to their 26-inch mounting centers and bolt pattern matching the previous two strokes.
BETTER CHARGING: Now that all of our In-Line Fours are compatible with digital controllers, they can supply a lot of power for a variety of electronics thanks to their 50-amp alternators.
EXTENDED TRIM: Improved top-end speed and acceleration to plane are provided by Extended Trim Range. The engine can be tilted above the waterline using the entire 70° tilt range.
EASY ENGINE FLUSHING: For increased convenience and longer engine life, a freshwater flush device enables you to flush the engine without starting it.
QUIETER OPERATION: The noise that is often produced when shifting gears is significantly reduced by Yamaha’s Shift Dampener System. considerably of the shifting force is absorbed by a unique design and components, making operating considerably smoother and quieter.
Power and Performance
POWER-TO-WEIGHT IMPACT: With four valves per cylinder, a tried-and-true 16-valve DOHC In-Line architecture optimizes power and economy. Additionally, it simplifies the design, allowing the F200 to have the best power-to-weight ratio in the class and making the F175 almost 30 pounds lighter than its nearest 1.7-liter rival.
OPTIMUM POWER: The long-track intake system and precision multi-point electronic fuel injection work together to optimize power and fuel efficiency throughout the In-Line Fours lineup.
TWO-STROKE PERFORMANCE FROM A FOUR STROKE: By maximizing combustion efficiency in a manner that no two-stroke can, four valves per cylinder provide the highest level of quiet, clean power and performance.
QUICK ACCELERATION: A greater intake capacity design is made possible by a 10mm offset crankshaft. For rapid acceleration, four adjusted intake tubes increase torque in the low and mid-speed ranges.
POWERFUL HOLE SHOT: These engines are incredibly adaptable due to the lightweight, compact design of the Composite Intake Manifold. Long Tube Intake Tracks are adjusted to improve airflow, which raises midrange and low-end torque. Increased acceleration and a stronger hole shot are the results of this. An air silencer box and surge tank minimize air intake noise and air turbulence for more seamless operation even with all this responsive power.
AMAZING LOW AND MID-RANGE TORQUE: Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) increases torque in the 2,000–3,500 RPM range and improves intake and exhaust efficiency by advancing or slowing the camshaft timing in response to engine load and RPM.
Reliability and Durability
CORROSION RESISTANCE: Our unique Phaze FiveTM electro-deposited, anti-corrosive paint technique, when combined with our proprietary alloy (YDC-30), offers a robust, five-layer corrosion barrier. For all Yamaha In-Line Four-Stroke engines, this safeguard is standard.
IMPROVED LUBRICATION: Wet sump pump lubrication that employs an oil pump and pressurized oil delivery system.
PROTECTION FROM THE ELEMENTS: A tried-and-true cowling drain system is included with every Yamaha In-Line Four model to quickly and effectively remove any water that gets into the cowling while the engine is running normally. For best reliability, incoming air is directed through a maze of tunnels that drain and catch water before it reaches the engine’s intake.
TO-THE-SECOND TIMING: For more accurate valve timing control, a direct drive system with valves that are turned on straight from the camshafts. For greater dependability and lower maintenance, rocker arms and adjustments are eliminated.
MINIMAL VIBRATION: For a comfortable ride, twin counterbalancing shafts reduce engine vibration.
